So much time goes into choosing flooring cabinets title and other miscellaneous details that today's homeowner forgets that it is the ceiling and walls that you look at everyday, and will do so as long as you live in your home.

One of the biggest misconceptions that people have is that you must have the same texture throughout out the whole house. Nothing could be further from the truth There are many design textures that can enhance any room in your home. For example, Bears Claw, Foliage, Bamboo or Basket can help you create a theme from one room to the next. Using some of these specialty textures and then painting one wall a different color can give you the rich look of designer wallpaper. Another creative look is to apply a skip trowel texture on the ceilings and one of the specialty textures or smooth finish on the walls this will give you a great contrast and put a lot more life into your room.

Once you choose the textures that fit your personality, you can move on to the part of drywall design that really get the creative juices flowing. The best place to start is with some of the crown moldings that are available today. There a numerous designs and techniques that are used to give you the look that you are searching for. Some of the more elaborate designs are made form foam and can give the homeowner a lot of latitude when creating that special look. And finally the richest looking and most innovative method of all is to use special casting plaster to create any design you desire, With this method there really is no limit to what can be created.

Once you are finished mixing textures and moldings then move on to the final touches including marbling, Choose a wall to highlight, or better yet pick an area where a column or mantle might really set the room apart from the others in the house.
